August 16th: The Collective Session

The Collective, The Cave and Redd 7 Recording are teaming up to host a monthly songwriter’s round the second Wednesday of the month (except August which will be on August 16th). Session will be from at 8:30-10. Feel free to come early and converse with your colleagues. Kevin Neal of Redd 7 will be hosting. As we expand on this monthly songwriters round, we’ll be looking at doing live recording of the sessions and potentially integrating a podcast as well!

Our inaugural session is anchored by Andrew Hoyt. Be sure to check out Andrew’s brand new album.

All musicians are welcome. Bring your instrument (even if that is exclusively your voice), your tunes and your open spirit. The session will be a listening room style environment. Musicians will take turns sharing music in the round.

Save the dates for upcoming sessions:

October 11th

how to get involved

  • Attend an industry hour or three. We grouped them to make it easier to attend multiple hours. You can also stop by for ‘open hang.’ Bring a friend, show them what were all about.

  • Spread the word. We need your help with invites. Make sure your co-workers, favorite musicians, collaborators and super fans know about The Collective and our 80/35 RV.

  • Bring your info to our table. Do you have information about your services? Business cards? Booking/Management info? Membership info for your non-profit? Class offerings? BRING THEM to the RV and we’ll make them available throughout the weekend.

  • Bring your merch. We will have a “discovery” merch table at the RV. This is a free table so if you have music, schwag, posters, T’s etc. you want to make available for those looking for new DSM music. Bring it! (Note: We believe artists should be paid for their talent, unfortunately this year we don’t have the resources to staff a full-sale merch table, but if you wanna get your stuff out there in this context, feel free to!)

  • Come to the Campfire Session Saturday night! This is a great opportunity to share and make music with your colleagues.

  • Sign up for the Ugly Newsletter and stay in the loop, especially if you can’t make it down. We are stronger together!
